Jaffna International Trade Fair from Jan. 29-31

The Jaffna International Trade Fair (JITF) is the biggest and one of a kind event in the Northern Province. The trade show has gained popularity and importance in Jaffna as it features all the industries in the province which generate employment and visitors from all over Sri Lanka and other parts of the world are due to attend the Fair, CEO, Lanka Exhibition and Conference Services, Aasim Mukthar told the media at the Ramada Hotel.

There will be over 300 local and foreign stalls at the Trade Fair which will be held from January 29-31, 2016 at the Duraiappah Stadium (Municipal grounds). It will be a platform to showcase agricultural products, consumer goods, construction, information and communication technology, financial services, apparel, hospitality, automobiles and the travel trade.

"There will also be discussions and seminars on the future of business opportunities in Jaffna and other parts of the country," Mukthar said.

The exhibition is considered a good meeting point between businessmen in the northern region and the rest of the country and the world," he said.

There will be many concurrent events during the Fair, including musical evenings with popular artistes, road shows before the expo, children's carnival and amusement park, higher education pavilions, special discount saree sale, hawker type food court, and also seminars and workshops, With the end of the civil war the doors are now open for brands and businesses in a wide range of industries, he said.
