Lyceum karate students in massive medal haul

Imagine a group of young students from Sri Lanka pocketing as many as 33 medals at an overseas martial arts meet! It became a reality when a group of them from Lyceum International School won 11 gold, 12 silver and 10 bronze medals at the 2015 Itosu-ryu Karate Championship that was held last month in California, USA.

They were coached by Shihan Alexander, the head coach of Lyceum International School and the chief instructor of the Japan Karatedo Itosukai Sri Lanka branch.

The winners with their medals: Anumi Senaya Fernando, Menara Nethranjalee Gamage, UIP Seneviratne, K.Vayuni Ransadi Perera, Poorna Ushan Lokuarachchi (Captain), R.Dinanjanan, Shanuka Kaveen Jayasekara, Vinuk Nethaka Karunaratne, Nevan Goonetilleke, PG Dinith Oshan, Krishan Dayalan, Hashen Dinusha Rajapakse, Damian Reginald Daniel, Shehana Shimali Liyanapathirana, Shehan Susiran Liyanapathirana, Asha Jayalath, Ashani Madurangi Fernando of Panadura Dojo and Tharindu Lanka Samarakoon of Hendala Dojo and A.Shainee of Headquarters Dojo
