SLI to help children having cancer
Sri Lanka Insurance (SLI) recently launched a campaign to help
children diagnosed with cancer.
Using a simple 'Missed Call' (to number 1357), the project aims to
collect funds for the Paediatric Oncology unit of the National Cancer
Institute, Maharagama.
The public need to give a 'missed call' to a pre-designated number
every time they see or hear any insurance advertisement, and for every
call made, SLI will donate Rs.10 to the fund.
TV commercial, radio campaign and newspaper advertisements have been
placed by SLI to ensure successful delivery of this message to the
public.
Browns distributes water pumps
The General Trading Division (GTD) of Brown and Company PLC has been
selected by the Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka as one of the entities
to work with the Authority in the development and cultivation programs.
The project to distribute BG water pumps, manufactured by the
company, to deserving farmers is carried out in collaboration with the
Regional Development Bank (RDB) for farmers to obtain BG Gold water
pumps on easy payment terms. Recently Browns' GTD distributed BG water
pumps to deserving farmers in the Aralaganwila area. The farmers were
also educated on the features, use and maintenance of the water pumps.
Audi sets new standards
Senok Automobile (Pvt) Limited will soon launch its flagship seven-seater
luxury SUV. The new Audi Q7 is also known as 'The Great Quattro'. The
lighter, more efficient and more technologically accomplished Q7 sets
the benchmark for large SUVs of this type.
Director for Audi at Senok Automobiles, Rajieve Fernando said, "The
new Q7 has made a mark for itself in the international arena, being
named the winner of the 'Eyes On Design Awards - Best Designed Interior'
category at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
Siyapatha Finance opens new branch
Siyapatha Finance PLC, a fully owned subsidiary of Sampath Bank PLC,
recently expanded its branch network in the Northern Province by opening
a branch in Vavuniya. The opening coincided with the tenth anniversary
celebrations of Siyapatha Finance and is the third branch to be opened
this year. This is the company's 19th branch.
Chief Executive Officer, Siyapatha Finance, Roshan Nanayakkara, in
his message of felicitation on the opening of the branch, said, "Being
one of the fastest growing finance companies in the country, Siyapatha
Finance will ensure that all financial needs of customers in the
Northern region are fulfilled at the highest level of efficiency,
reliability and convenience."
People’s Bank Arts Circle exhibition
The People’s Bank Arts Circle recently organized a painting and
photographic exhibition at its Head Office premises.
The exhibition showcased photographs and paintings of the creative
staff members of People’s Bank and their children.
The exhibition was opened by People’s Bank Chief Executive Officer
and General Manager N. Vasantha Kumar.
Parallel to the exhibition, a book and CD sale and exhibition was
also held. Members of the Bank staff including its Corporate and
Executive Management were present.
ComBank opens branch in Badulla
The Commercial Bank of Ceylon recently opened a ‘Minicom’ branch in
Badulla, in addition to its branch in the Uva Province to cater to the
increased demand for its services.
The branch at Keppetipola Road, Badulla, is equipped with its own ATM
and offers a range of services including cash transactions, clearing of
cheques, opening all types of savings accounts, fixed deposit accounts,
foreign currency accounts and handling of foreign drafts.
The branch offers extended working hours, from 9 am to 6 pm on week
days and 9 am to 1.30 pm on Sundays.
The branch was opened by Commercial Bank’s Deputy General Manager,
Personal Banking, Chandana Gunasekara. |
