The Ceylinco Diabetes Centre will offer discounted diagnostic
packages and other benefits this month again, to encourage screening
for, and better management of diabetes.
An annual feature in view of World Diabetes Day which falls on
November 14, the packages are designed for diagnosed diabetics and for
healthy people wishing to assess their status, and will be priced at 15
percent lower this month, an official said.
For diagnosed diabetics, the Centre will offer a 'Comprehensive
Diabetes Check-up'. This would include medical consultation with a
complete physical examination, and tests such as Body Mass Index (BMI),
Visual Acuity, Fasting Blood Sugar, HbA1C, Full Blood Count, Lipid
Profile, Urine Full Report, Urine for Microalbumin, Serum Creatinine,
ECG, SGPT, an eye consultation and a discussion of the test results with
a medical officer.
Those who obtain this package would receive a Total Foot Assessment
(Vascular and Neurological), a Refraction Test, a Dental Check-up and a
book on diabetes free, the official said.
Diabetics who obtain the comprehensive check-up package this month
will be entitled to a discount of five percent on the medicines they
purchase at the Centre's pharmacy.
