Death of Lingawathi

Lingawathie Chelvadurai, mother of award winning architect Anjalendran, passed away at her home on November 3. She was 88. Her husband, an engineer by profession passed away in 1975.

Lingawathie is the daughter of Sundaralingam who was the Minister of Trade in the first Cabinet of Ceylon. She is survived by her three sons, Harendran who is a project director in Singapore, Anjalendran and Suntharendran who is an electrical engineer.

Even though the family did not officially announce her demise, her sons are ever grateful to friends, relations and family members who came to the funeral.
