‘Belittling the plight of Muslims
The article written by Hilmi Ahamed titled ‘Muslim IDPs waiting for
Godot’ is legally a shallow case for argument. He fails to sustain his
argument despite him being a campaigner for various Muslim causes.
Being a media man, he never maintained neutrality in his writings.
This article should have taken into account various other scenarios
rather than pounding on his political enemies.
Waiting for Godot is an absurdist play by Samuel Beckett, in which
two characters wait endlessly for the arrival of someone named Godot. I
do not find any sensible comparison between the pathetic waiting of the
Northern Mulsims to return to their land and the fictitious character
Godot.
He has tried to show his punditry by citing Godot but it turns out to
be his own undiscerning use of analogy. It looks like he belittled the
plight of the people and their expectation by using the inappropriate
and absurd Godot.

Indiscipline in Police service
On October 29, HNDA students were attacked by the police. This was
unnecessary. This is the contention of many, what happened? This is
clearly the result of indiscipline in the Police service. There are many
complaints relating to indiscipline in the police service. Some of them
are taking bribes, attacking innocent people, neglecting duties,
favouring those having power and money, treating poor innocent people
with disdain, sexual harassment of women and supporting crime and
corruption
The only way to avoid similar attacks is to improve discipline in the
Police Service. Only an independent observer will notice these lapses.
Senior officers may not know this as they are not the victims.
It is not an easy task to improve discipline in the police force. It
is over to those occupying top positions. They must discipline
themselves and discipline subordinates.
