NCE biz delegation visits Czech Republic and Austria
A delegation of the National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE)
visited the Czech Republic and Austria, to:
* Explore the possibility of two-way trade by exporting Sri Lankan
products and sourcing inputs such as raw materials, equipment used in
the production process, and packing materials.
* Set up a network with trade chambers and business contacts.
* Establish links for direct exports to the two countries to avoid
exporting via third parties in other countries.
The delegation was led by President of the Chamber Sarada de Silva
and Secretary General of the Chamber Shiham Marikar.
The delegation comprised Managing Director, Straight-Line
International (Pvt) Ltd, Ramesh Muthukumar, Managing Director, Faga
Tyres (Pvt) Limited, K.A.C. Vidyaratne, Director, Fanam International (Pvt)
Ltd., T.F.N. Amith, Manager Imports and Bonds, Coirpel Lanka (Pvt) Ltd
and Colombo Cargo Express (Pvt) Ltd., Janaka Widanagamage, Director,
Nasna Impex Garments Industries (Pvt) Ltd., Zaid Farook Somar and Chief
Operating Officer, Mohamed Haniffa Hariz, General Manager, Coordination,
Samson International Plc and D. Samson Industries (Pvt) Ltd., Dilshan
Rajapaksa. The Federal Economic Chamber (WKO) in Vienna had organised
B2B meetings with some of its members. These meetings were coordinated
by the Sri Lankan Mission in Vienna.
Hony. Consulate of Sri Lanka in the Czech Republic, Josef Penkava and
Hony. Consulate of Czech Republic in Sri Lanka, Dr. Lohitha
Samarawickrama provided logistic support to the delegates, and
coordinated the meetings with the Trade Chambers in the Prague. |
