Border Movement: Electronic Music Workshop
The Border Movement goes back to its roots in Sri Lanka as an
educational and international platform this November with the first in a
series of workshops aimed at intermediate to advanced level electronic
musicians taking place at the Goethe Hall from 6.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m.
on November 20.The invitation only free workshop series will consist of
talks, tutorials, tech demonstrations and critiques delivered by local
and international electronic musicians. Exploring both hardware and
software production techniques, workflow methods and other concepts
related to the topic of contemporary electronic music, the workshops aim
to help local composers refine their craft and create a space in which
members of the ever-growing musical sub-culture can share their
knowledge with the community.
Interested electronic musicians are invited to apply by sending a

Sarath Siritha
Sarath Siritha, the 16th death commemoration of virtuoso Sarath
Dassanayake will be held at 4.00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 17 at 4.00
p.m. at the State Film Corporation's Tharanganee auditorium, Colombo,
with Maestro Pandit Amaradeva as the Chief Guest. The keynote address
will be delivered by Prof. Sunil Ariyaratne, Dr. Rohana Weerasinghe will
also speak."Sarath Dassanayake Sangeetha Mehewara" authored by Pujasena
Wickramage will also be launched to mark the occasion. The event will be
