The DFCC Bank recently donated dry rations to families in Vaatharawathai who were affected by the continuous rainfall that resulted in heavy flooding in the North.

Vatharavathai, a small village 20 km from the Jaffna city suffered extensive damage after it was affected by a flash flood, which was caused by continuous rainfall for over four days. The affected families were temporarily relocated and shelters were set up in several small buildings and a public school.

The staff of the Northern Regional office of DFCC Bank visited the flood-affected area soon after hearing the news to identify the immediate needs of the affected people.

Officials of the Regional Office with the assistance of the Divisional Secretariat and the DFCC Bank Jaffna Branch staff members distributed dry rations to the affected.

The staff of DFCC Bank Vavuniya branch also visited the displaced flood victims in their area and assisted them by distributing dry rations.
