Childhood friends switched at birth
Childhood friends Luke Monias and Norman Barkman recently discovered
they were switched at birth over 40 years ago!
Luke and Norman were born on the same day in 1975 at the same
hospital in Canada. They were raised in the same small community and
have been close friends throughout their lives. People used to joke that
they looked alike and switched at birth and the pair always laughed it
off but as they grew older the jokes kept coming and encouraged them to
find out for sure.
DNA results proved that the men had been switched at birth. Now they
would like some answers from their families.
Taylor breaks record
New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor has broken a 100-year record after
scoring 290 against Australia in the 2nd Test.
Taylor's score is the highest scored by a touring player in
Australia, surpassing Reginald Foster's record of 287 in 1903.
Taylor batted a day and a half racking up almost nine and a half
hours at the crease.
His 290 included 43 fours.
Lights for Paris
Paris may often be referred to as the 'City of Lights' but since the
attacks on Friday, the 13th it is the rest of the world that offers
light to Paris.
Historical monuments and buildings around the world - including our
own Sky Tower - have been lit up in the colours of the French flag in a
show of support and love for Paris.
Many people lost their lives in the attacks around the French capital
on Friday night and many world leaders had offered their support and
encouragement to France.
Along with the many monuments lit up in French colours, Facebook is
supporting Paris by encouraging users to turn their profile pictures
into the colours of the flag: red, blue and white.
