Nevorp Motor Company showroom opened in Kottawa

The Rs. 30 million motor-cycle showroom of Nevorp Motor Company (Pvt) Ltd was opened at the Kottawa highway entrance facing the High Level Road recently.

The company was founded to manufacture automotives in Sri Lanka. It will mainly focus on manufacturing motor-cycles in Sri Lanka to create indirect employment, transfer technology and know-how and save foreign exchange during the first phase of the operation.

The company ensures that the best quality products are produced in its state-of-the-art facility along with the highly skilled employees,

Their aim is to create their own technology to develop the automobile industry where more employment will be created. Chairman and CEO, Nevorp Corporation (Pvt) Ltd, A. Sandeepa Wijesinghe said, "We started operations two months ago and have invested Rs. 30 million. The motor-cycle combines Taiwanese, Chinese and Sri Lankan technology."

"The unique feature is the tyre. The Scooby Scooter comes with 13-inch tyres and the normal scooters in the market has 10 inch-tyres.

Our motor-cycles are rugged and it is suitable for Sri Lankan roads such as gravel, carpet and village roads. It has disk brakes, rear double shocks, complete digital metre and front double lights," he said.

"We manufacture the complete seat including the plastic base, handle, all steel brackets and the complete silencer unit in Sri Lanka. We hope to completely localize this motor-cycle and this will be the first, more than 75 percent value added motor-cycle in Sri Lanka. We will do this within one year," he said.

"Recently we opened the Yakkala showroom and we will open the Kalutara showroom this month. We have appointed dealers in Seeduwa, Mahiyanganaya and Girandurukotte. Dealers will be appointed in Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Jaffna, Batticaloa, Trincomalee, Kandy and Matara," he said.

"We will export 250 motor-cycles to two Asian countries in 2016. The Nevorp Andromeda Street Bike is also available here. We will introduce the Andromeda 600 series next year," he added.
