Ethical Hackers forum
The Ethical Hackers Forum of Sri Lanka will discuss the latest impact
of cyber laws on the information security industry during its fifth
session on Friday, December 11.
The forum, titled 'A lawful cyber sphere: Review of legal frameworks
in information security', will be held at the CICRA auditorium, Eighth
Floor, Unity Plaza Building, Colombo 4.
The resource persons will be Program Director and Legal Advisor, ICTA
Sri Lanka, Jayantha Fernando, CEO, Sri Lanka CERT, Lal Dias and Senior
Lecturer in Law, General John Kotelawala Defence University, Dr.
Thusitha Abeysekara.
CASL confers FCA status on Chartered Accountants
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CASL) conferred
the FCA (Fellow Chartered Accountant) designation on140 Chartered
Accountants, at a FCA convocation at the CA Sri Lanka auditorium
recently.
The new fellow members of CA Sri Lanka, which included high profile
corporate leaders, were conferred the FCA by President, CASL, Arjuna
Herath.
Herath called upon the new fellow members to take greater
responsibility in shaping the profession to meet stakeholder
expectations, and be an exceptional role model for future Chartered
Accountants and junior colleagues.
Hemas opens Anantara Resort
Hemas Holdings and Minor Hotel Group opened the first Anantara resort
in Sri Lanka - Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort on a secluded
beachfront along Sri Lanka's southern coast on December 1.

Healthguard opens flagship store in Colombo

opened its a store at Maitland Crescent recently. The flagship store, a

products was opened amidst a gathering of celebrities, leading figures

Global campaign to promote Ceylon Tea
The Ministry of Plantation Industries and Phoenix Ogilvy signed an
agreement to launch a global communications campaign to promote Ceylon
Tea as the most exotic tea in the world and thereby command a better
premium price, a media release from the ministry said.
Ministry Secretary Upali Marasinghe and Chairman, Phoenix Ogilvy,
Irvin Weerackody, signed the agreement recently at the Tea Board.
Minister of Plantations, Navin Dissanayake and Chairman of the Sri Lanka
Tea Board, Rohan Pethiyagoda were also present.
The global campaign was proposed to focus on seven identified
regions, Russia/CIS, Middle-East/Gulf, African, Far East Oceania,
European, American and South Asian.
