Heavy rain today too

A Met Department official said yesterday that the atmospheric disturbance still persists in the vicinity of Sri Lanka and showers or thundershowers will occur over most parts of the island particularly after 12 noon today.

He said that showers can occur at some places in the morning too and heavy rain (about 100 mm) is also likely at some places. There may be temporary localized strong winds during the thundershowers. People are requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by lightning.
