Assault on HNDA students:
HRC raps IGP

“IGP N.K. Illangakoon should have issued a statement regarding the
police attack on HNDA students on October 29,” said Dr. Deepika Udugama
Chairman, Human Rights Commission,
“The failure of the IGP to make a statement involving a serious
incident between the police and the public, is a shortcoming on his part
” said Dr Udugama. Meanwhile the Police Department will implement the
recommendations of the Police Commission and the Human Rights Commission
on the police assault on (HNDA) students in Colombo on October 29,
Police Spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekara told the Sunday Observer
