Godahewa requests for different date

Former Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
Nalaka Godahewa who failed to appear before the Police Financial Crimes
Investigation Division (FCID) has through this lawyers requested for
another date.
It is unclear if the former chairman faces imminent arrest. Two other
persons including the former Deputy Director General of the SEC Dhammika
Perera and an agent identified as Ronnie Ibrahim were arrested and
remanded till tomorrow, December 7.
Ibrahim is said to be a director of a company which had defrauded Rs
five million during a deal which took place at the SEC in 2013. Godahewa
was also summoned before the FCID to inquire over this matter. |
