Following the success of Mrs. Sri Lanka 2015 sponsored by the Sunday Observer, Vasana and Rozanne (V&R) are back again to present another spectacular event especially for at all married Sri Lankan women.

This of course, is the much-awaited Mrs. Sri Lanka 2016. What's so special for Vasana Danthanarayana and Rozanne Diasz is that they have received the franchise for the Mrs. World Pageant and Mrs. Sri Lanka 2016 will have the opportunity to represent Sri Lanka in the global arena.

Along with the renowned pageants (Mrs. Sri Lanka and Mrs. World) the contestants will compete in the other pageants for married women - Mrs. Asia and Mrs. Globe. These pageants are now the most talked about in Sri Lanka and looked forward to by the cream of Colombo society as the most glamorous events for the year.

Vasana and Rozanne have an intricate and extensive modelling and pageantry experience and together they will groom the married contestants to represent Sri Lanka and bring back the glory that Mrs. Rosy Senanayake achieved way back in 1985.

The winners last year were Mrs. Udari Warnakulasooriya - Mrs. Sri Lanka for Mrs. Globe, Mrs. Kasumika Wickramarachchi Millawalage - Mrs. Sri Lanka for Mrs. Asia All Nations and Mrs. Bernie Balasuriya - Mrs. Sri Lanka for Mrs. Asia Tourism Classic.

The mini pageants that will be held are Mrs. Personality, Mrs. Photogenic, Mrs. Elegance, Mrs. Talent, Mrs. Body Beauty, Mrs. Catwalk, Mrs. Beautiful Smile, Most Supportive Husband and Best Mrs. In the Kitchen with Chef Sanath from Hotel Galadari. It will be held at the scenic Hotel Reef at Uswatakeiyawa. The evening gowns for the pageant will be designed by the leading fashion designer Michael Wijesuriya while Rangana Ariyadasa will be the entertainment partner for the show. Dr. Prem Shri Hewawasam is the National Organiser for the event. The proceeds from the pageant will be donated to the Rehabilitation Hospital, in Ragama. -Mahes
