Somalatha Subasinghe's 'Vikurthi' at the Wendt
Two special shows of Somalatha Subasinghe's popular semi-musical play
'Vikurthi' will be staged at 3.30 p.m. and 7.00 p.m. at the Lionel Wendt
Theatre on Friday December 18. The star cast of the play include
Kaushalya Fernando, Prasannajith Abeysooriya, Namal Jayasinghe, Geetha
Alahakoon, Sulochana Weerasinghe, Migara Kanchana, Vikarama Senevirathne,
Sanjaya Hettiarachchi, Nimmi Priyadarshani, Dilip Kumara, Dilum Bhuddika,
Harsha Thennakoon and a host of trained new actors of the Kotte Ranga
Pitaya. Lighting and effects are by Chandana Aluthge. 'Vikurthi' Music
composition is by M.R. Chulasinghe.
'Vikurthi' is a family drama which can be enjoyed by audiences of all
levels. The staging is organised by Jude Srimal. All seats are box
planned and tickets are available only at the Lionel Wendt Theatre.
Sudu saha Kalu at Colombo Campus
 Two
special shows of Sudu saha Kalu, an outstanding play written by veteran
writer and director Simon Nawagaththegama and directed by veteran actor
Sriyantha Mendis will be staged at the Colombo Campus New Art Theatre
(NAT) at 3.30 p.m. and 6.45 p.m. today, December 13.
The cast include Sriyantha Mendis, Kusum Renu, Roshan Pilapitiya,
Jayalal Rohana, Wasantha Wittachchi, Nadeeshani Peliarachchi, Mahendra
Weerarathna, Rathna D. Nambuge, Prageeth Eraegama, Uditha Gunarathne,
Shan Amanda and many artistes. Music for the play is composed by Jagath
P. Wijeweera, with veteran actor Mahendra Perera doing the choreography
and stage settings, Wasantha Wittachchi handling make up, Mihindu
Madushanka handling lighting and sound managements, and Sumedha Prasanna
and Ruvan Kumara handling the stage management. The play is produced and
organised by Jude Srimal.
Tickets are available at Sarasavi Book Shop - Nugegoda, Sadeepa Book
Shop - Borella, Salaka Senkada - Town Hall and at the Theatre gate.

ekka bae at YMBA Borella
Balloth Ekka bae, the hilarious comedy written and directed by
Ravindra Ariyarathne will be staged at 3.30 and 6. 45 p.m. at the
Borella YMBA Theatre on December 18.
With a host of popular artiste including, Wijaya Nandasiri, Kumara
Thirimadura, Roshan Pilapitiya, Gihan Fernando, and Ferny Roshini, the
play has Shantha Peiris and Luvoline Vandawall adding the extra touch
with their music composition and background creations. Stage management
is by Sumedha Prasanna.
Organised by Jude Srimal, tickets are available at Sadeepa Book Shop
- Borella, Sarasavi Book Shop - Nugegoda, Sri Ramya Hotel - Borella and
at the YMBA Theatre.

Bena and Jasaya saha Lenchina
Two of Dayananda Gunawardena's most popular dramas Nari Bena and
Jasaya saha Lenchina, will be staged at 3.30 p.m. and 7.00 p.m. at the
Lionel Wendt Theatre on Sunday, December 20.
The cast includes popular artistes Bandula Wijeweera, Rodney
Warnakula, Sarath Kulanga, Tharanda Kumari, Rathnasheela Perera, Sunil
Thilakarathne, Nilmini Kottegoda, Jayanath Bandara and Indika Jayasinghe.
Music is by Pubudu Walpita. The drama is being organised by Jude Srimal
and tickets (box plan) available only at Lionel Wendt Theatre. |
