Kandy set for another rocker

The defending Rugby league champions, Kandy Sports Club will play their fourth match in the current season against Army Sports Club today Sunday at the Nittawela grounds, kick-off is set for 4 pm with Priyantha Gunarthne the referee.

Kandy Sports Club has played three games, winning all three against CH an FC, 80-3, Air Force 63-12 and Police 50-12.

So today it is going be another big score.

Army lost the opener to CR and FC, and won the next two games against Navy and Air Force. Though Army won the last game they were outdone by their Air Force counterparts.

Rugby's popularity has been on the rise in Kandy and the fact that they have proved is no surprise. Today Kandy Sports Club is doing well because what they do regularly is the pre-match rugby training routine which is both mental and physical preparation.

The warm-up programme for a rugby match should be decided in advance of the day of the game. If possible, it should be kept the same for every game, with minor tweaks according to different variables, such as weather conditions and changes in personnel, it is done.

For today's game Army have reserved 1500 tickets for their fans.
