The 16th edition of the International Packaging Exhibition in Sri Lanka - Lankapak 2016, will be held from May 6-8 at the BMICH.

Lankapak 2016 will set the stage for Sri Lanka's packaging industry to showcase the latest and most sophisticated products and services used all around the world.

This exhibition will educate potential buyers on new packaging techniques which will be of paramount importance to add more value to their products at competitive prices. Lankapak 2016 has been endorsed by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the World Packaging Organization and the Asia Packaging Federation.

PCL Solutions will be the Diamond sponsor for Lankapak 2016.

President, Sri Lanka Packaging Institute, J.D.C Perera said, "This event is held in conjunction with Food and Bake Colombo 2016, organized by the Chefs Guild of Sri Lanka, in Hall B of the Exhibition Centre."

"The SLIP will conduct a two-day training program on packaging and its objectives, followed by a one-day Congress supported by the Asian Packaging Federation (APF) with resource personnel from Sri Lanka, India and other member countries of the Asian Region," he said.

"We expect many from the Asian Region to exhibit their products at Lankapak 2016," Perera said.

"We look forward to the active participation of packaging material and machinery suppliers from member countries of the Asian Packaging Federation, especially India and China, being the biggest suppliers to the Sri Lankan packaging industry," he said.

The upcoming Lankapak 2016 exhibition will be a success with the support and effort extended by State and private sector organizations, an SLIP spokesman said. The Sri Lanka Institute of Packaging set up in 1975 has showcased packaging developments in the country through its exhibitions in Colombo since 1981.
