Exporters AGM on Jan 14
The Annual General Meeting of the National Chamber of Exporters (NCE)
to elect office-bearers and council members for 2016 and fulfill other
statutory obligations will be held on January 14 at Hotel Galadari.
The Chamber will celebrate its 30th anniversary this year.
A senior Minister will be the chief guest, while the Guest of Honour
will be the Ambassador of a country which is an emerging market for Sri
Lankan exports. It will also be attended by senior State officials
related to exports, members of the Diplomatic Corps, and members of the
Chamber.
The keynote address will be delivered by International Management
Consultant and CEO of MTI Consulting, Hilmy Cader.
He will assess contemporary issues related to exports in the
international market place, the challenges that Sri Lanka will have to
face, strategies and approaches that Sri Lanka could adopt to meet such
challenges.
This aspect will also be looked at from the viewpoint of the policies
of the government related to its medium-term economic development plan,
and policies adopted to accelerate the development of exports, and
promote Foreign Direct Investments, to increase production, and widen
the spectrum of value added products and services including hi-tech
exports.
Immediate Past President of the Chamber, Dr. Jagath Peiris will
deliver a brief address on the significant achievements of the Chamber
since its inception and important milestones in its history.
The Chamber has also lined-up other programs to disseminate
information and knowledge to the participants, particularly exporters.
