Former UNP MP Wilson Jayawardana passes away

Former United National Party parliamentarian for Baddegama, Galle, Wilson Jayawardana, passed away on Friday at the age of 85. Jayewardene who hailed from a well-known political family in Baddegama, entered active politics in 1983 and served as UNP Member of Parliament for Baddegama from 1989 to 1994 as a Member of Parliament.

He leaves his wife Sriyalatha Jayawardana and two sons Janaka Jayawardana and Charaka Jayawardane. His remains will lie at Manamperi Funeral Parlour in Karapitiya, Galle, today (Jan.10) for public homage and, cremation will take place at Municipal Crematorium at Dadella, Galle at 4pm.
