YBSL trains budding entrepreneurs
Youth Business Sri Lanka of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and the
National Human Resources Development Council of Sri Lanka, recently
trained over 230 budding entrepreneurs on the finer skills of
entrepreneurship under the 'Promoting and Empowering the Small and
Medium Entrepreneurs', project carried out jointly by the two
institutions.
Three training programs were held covering Polonnaruwa, Matara and
Kandy and the participants were trained in administration, financial
management, market identification, managerial issues and strategies and
policy framework (tax, audit, registration).
Eighty-six entrepreneurs from Polonnaruwa, 90 from Matara and 50 from
the Nawalapitiya Divisional Secretariat took part in the training
programs.
The entrepreneurs are engaged in brick making, carpentry, producing
and marketing spices, tailoring and construction. The program also found
entrepreneurs engaged in running hair salons, garages, black- smith
workshops, wholesale and retail trade, welding, astrology and
restaurants. |
