Death of former MP D.M. Gunasekara

D.M. Gunasekara (82), former SLFP MP for the Bibile electorate from 1960 to 1965 died yesterday after a brief illness. He was elected in 1960, the youngest MP then, and later became the SLFP organiser for Moneragala electorate. He retired from politics in the 1980s.

He is the father of the Commando Brigade Commander, Colonel Uditha Bandara.His remains lie at No. 59/9, Samadhi Garden, Old Kottawa Road, Pannipitiya and the funeral will take place on Wednesday, January 27 at the General Cemetery, Pannipitiya.
