INS Vikramaditya on goodwill visit

The Indian Navy’s largest ship INS Vikramaditya which was on a goodwill visit to Sri Lanka accompanied by the guided missile destroyer ‘Mysore’ accorded a guard of honour to President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday.

This is the maiden overseas port visit by INS Vikramditya after its arrival in India two years ago.This visit is symbolic of the close maritime cooperation and mutual trust between India and Sri Lanka. Picture shows the President inspects a-guard-of- honour on board the INS Vikramaditya. Inset shows Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Y.K. Sinha and the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, the Flag Officer Commanding Western Fleet of the Indian Navy, Rear Admiral Ravneet Singh, Commanding officers of the two ships Captain Krishna Swaminathan and Captain Paul Samuel participating in the ceremony.
