The Interact Club of Royal College, the third in Asia and the oldest
functioning Interact Club in Sri Lanka will host 'Drama Comp' the Annual
Inter School Drama Competition for the memorable 30th Year. The
competition to be staged at the Lionel Wendt Theatre will be held in two
stages with the Semi Finals on April 24 and the Finals on May 10.
An annual event in the schools' calendar, 'Drama Comp' has emerged at
the forefront of Inter-School Drama Competitions and is very much
anticipated by theatergoers. The completion not only provides young
actors the platform to showcase their talents, but also nurtures them to
attain professionalism and has maintained that standard and positioning
for the past 29 years.
The competition has gained immense popularity among the school going
community and has never failed to attract large crowds both young and
old. It has created many talented actors who have later continued to
become professionals in the drama field and they come back to support
'Drama Comp' by their presence as Judges and Directors.
Immensely successful over the years, the competition also provides
the stimulus to create a stepping stone for future artistes to elevate
the standard of Sri Lankan drama to an international level, while
inculcating the love for art and nurturing the true dramatist within
each individual. It also provides an opportunity for Sri Lankans to
experience the magic of drama first hand.
