Ex-Lyceum boy does well in Adelaide

Mineth Heenkenda, a Sri Lankan Student of Glenanga International School, Adelaide is representing the Adelaide Cricket Club in the under 14 premier league cricket tournament now in progress.

He has captured 11 wickets so far in three matches in the tournament as a right arm medium pace opening bowler.

His highest score so far is 69 not out in 40 balls against West Torrents Club last Saturday.

Heenkenda has also been selected to represent the South Australia Under 14 squad.

According to coach Jason Harriat, if Heenkenda maintains his present form in both batting and bowling he has a good chance of representing the State under 14 team at the Inter State Tournament to be held shortly.

When Heenkenda was in Sri Lanka, he performed a double hat-trick against Wyctherly International, Colombo while representing Lyceum International, Nugegoda at the under 13 International Schools Cricket Tournament held in 2014.

He is the son of former cricket captain of Dharmaraja College, Kandy Pradeep Heenkenda who is a lawyer by profession residing in Adelaide with his wife Tharanga who is also a lawyer.
