Elected President of College of Ophthalmologists

Dr. Pradeepa K. Siriwardena was inducted as the President of the College of Ophthalmologists of Sri Lanka at Hotel Taj Samudra, last week. Prof. Rohan W. Jayasekera, former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Founder Director of the Human Genetics Unit University of Colombo, was the chief guest on the occasion.

The ceremony was attended by guests and specialists from various fields of medicine.

 

 


Harcourts sports meet tomorrow

The annual Inter House Sports Meet of Harcourts International School, Dehiwala will be held tomorrow, February 1 from 1.00 p.m. at the Saranakara Grounds, Dehiwala.

The wife of the Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan, Ms. Umbreen Sipra, Dr. Safraz Ahmed Khan Sipra, will be the chief guest. wife of Chairman, Harcourts International School, Ahmaed Rheyas, Mrs. Hidaya Rheyas will be the guest of honour.


Krishnamurti talk

A recorded public talk on 'Ending Sorrow' by the late Indian sage, Jiddu Krishnamurti will be replayed at the Anula Nursery School, High Level Road, Colombo 6, today, January 31 at 9.45 a.m.

It is organised by the Krishnamurti Centre, Sri Lanka Inc.

Vocalists Dr. Victor Ratnayake, Amarasiri Peiris, Deepika Priyadarshanee Peiris, Samitha Erandathie Mudunkotuwa and Amal Perera will participate.
