MSc in diabetes

Dr. M.G.H. Thilakarathne of Asiri Clinic, Katubedda, Moratuwa recently obtained the Master of Science in diabetes with a Merit pass, conducted by the University of South Wales, considered the largest university in Wales, the United Kingdom.

Dr. Thilakarathne also secured the honour of being the first Sri Lankan to obtain this post graduate qualification.

Dr. Thilakarathne, an expert in family health science, is currently serving as a visiting lecturer, general practitioner, trainer and an examiner in Family Medicine Diploma Course at the Sri Lanka Post Graduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo.

He is a volunteer at the Sri Lanka Army Hospital and the Police Hospital as a visiting physician and has been recognized as a Doctor of Sports Medicine by the Sports Medicine Australia Institute. He has served for over 10 years at ICC World Cup cricket tournaments and national and international sports events.
