'Media Study and Journalism diploma'

Certificates were awarded to the fourth batch of participants who completed the one-year diploma course on 'Media Study and Journalism', conducted by the Sri Lanka Press Council. The diplomas were awarded at a ceremony at the BMICH under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena.

The aim of the diploma course is to create a healthy media culture by improving the theoretical and practical knowledge of new entrants.

Mass Media and Parliamentary Reforms Minister, Gayantha Karunatilleke, Justice and Buddha Sasana Minister Wijayadasa Rajapakshe and Deputy Media Minister Karunaratne Paranavithana were also present.
