The sessions evolved around facing today's challenges with novel
approaches that make HR more agile, forward thinking and bolder. It also
provided some key HR insights and perspectives to industry leaders to
guide them through the year and beyond. FranklinCovey Sri Lanka was one
of the strategic partners of the 'Peoples Summit' and CEO, Sri Lanka and
the Maldives for FranklinCovey South Asia, Ameer Ahmed shared new
insights on 'Leading across generations'. The workshop was held in the
afternoon for participants of the HR fraternity, business leaders and
managers of the corporate world.
The workshop 'Unleashing the Potential in a Multi-Generational
Culture' focused on how to tap into the contributions of all four
generations. The traditional, baby boomers, generation X and Generation
Y (also referred to as the Millenials).
Ahmed also shared some of the best practices and the word-class
training from FranklinCovey on how to understand the specific
differences between the generations in today's workplace and how leaders
could cover these differences to unleash their true potential.
"In today's knowledge economy, it is important for us to understand
the key differences in the generations which automatically leads to many
points of friction in the working environment. These are similar to the
challenges we face even in our family environment in our day-to-day
life," said Ahmed.
"Without acknowledging these differences and resolving the same, it
will be difficult to unleash talent in a multi-generational culture.
This is the challenge we face today in the ever-changing environment,"
he said. |
