Honorary title for Nimal Banneheka

Nimal Premasiri Banneheka JP, of Suduwella, Maradana was bestowed with the honorary title, 'Sama Sri Deshakeerthi' at an awards ceremony organised by the New Unity Organisation of All Communities at the S. de S. Jayasinghe Memorial Hall, Dehiwala recently. A past pupil of Kuliyapitiya Saranath Maha Vidyalaya, Nimal Banneheka, is a well-known social and religious worker in Suduwella, and had served in the Sri Lanka Light Infantry, SLTB and Lake House.

Krishnamurti talk

A recorded public talk on 'Ending Sorrow' by the late Indian sage, Jiddu Krishnamurti will be replayed at Anula Nursery School, High Level Road, Colombo 6 today, February 14 at 9.45 a.m.

It is organised by the Krishnamurti Centre, Sri Lanka Inc.

Seminar

A seminar organised by the Information Department to enlighten journalists on Constitutional reforms will be held under the patronage of Parliament Reforms and Mass Media Minister Gayantha Karunathilaka on Tuesday, February 16 at 9 am at Visumpaya, Colombo.

Deputy Minister Karunaratna Paranawithana, and Secretary to Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media Vajira Narampanawa will also participate.
