St. Aloysius' College wins schools rugby Sevens
St. Aloysius' College Galle won the Under-20 Division Two inter
school rugby Sevens championship when they defeated Devapathiraja
College Ratgama 19-10 in the tournament's final played at Koggala in
Galle recently.
The champions having led 12-5 at the breather made up their points
through two goals, a try as against two tries scored by their opponents.
In the semi finals St Aloysius overcame Sarasavi Uyana MV Peradeniya
while Devapthiraja got the better of St Anthony's Wattala.
Meanwhile Sri Sumangala Kandy took the Shield beating Mahanama
Panadura while Asoka MV won the Bowl overcoming Siri Piyaratana MMV
Padukka and Sri Sumangala Panadura bagged the Plate title defeating
Talduwa Buddhist College.
The tournament was conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football
Association and sponsored by Singer Sri Lanka with the participation of
28 schools around the island.
