The 'Trailblazers of Life Insurance' awards ceremony was held at the
BMICH, where over 250 members of Ceylinco Life's high-flying sales team,
executives, unit and branch heads received trophies, overseas trips,
cash rewards and star-class weekend holiday packages for individual and
team performances.
Ceylinco Life Managing Director and CEO, R. Renganathan said
challenges were overcome last year and added that it was a year
befitting the mettle of Ceylinco Life.
Outlining some of the challenges, including a failed attempt to take
over the company, he said, "Truth won in the end, and today Ceylinco
Life has emerged stronger than ever before."
"These challenges did not disturb our concentration on core business
in our first year as an independent life insurance company, and we ended
2015 as the market leader in our sector for the 12th consecutive year,"
Renganathan said. Although the sale of insurance products online is
recording healthy growth, about 90 per cent of life insurance is still
sold by sales agents. Bearing this in mind, Ceylinco Life has invested
in equipping the sales force with the latest in tabs, mobile
point-of-sale devices and laptops to facilitate their work and enhance
convenience for customers.
Renganathan said the company was a good example of gender equality.
When it launched operations 28 years ago, 99.1 per cent of the sales
force was male. Today, the proportion of males to female in the sales
force is 52 per cent to 48 per cent. |
