Rugby coach needs assistance
Basil Rodrigo, a former rugby player and coach who served the game
for almost four decades, has been forced to give up coaching, after
nagging problems following a road accident. Rodrigo is an old boy of
St.Benedict's College, Kotahena. In 1974, he captained the first XV when
he met with the accident.
His failing health has made Rodrigo to give up active coaching and is
now at the mercy of donors who could assist him.
Rodrigo has no permanent place to live and an Old Ben, Rohan De
Silva, (Chairman Mclarens Shipping) in Colombo has provided a house for
him. He is the older brother of the late actor Granville Rodrigo.
