Ceylinco Insurance won the People's Award in the insurance category
at the 2016 'SLIM-Nielsen Peoples Awards' - the awards event of the Sri
Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM).
Ceylinco Insurance's award was accepted on behalf of the company by
Managing Director, Ceylinco General Insurance, Patrick Alwis and General
Manager, Business Development, Ceylinco Life Insurance, Joe Jayawardena
at the awards night at Waters Edge.
Ceylinco Insurance ended 2015 with a consolidated premium income of
Rs 27 billion, with General Insurance accounting for Rs 13.5 billion and
Life Insurance generating Rs 13.4 billion, recording an overall increase
of Rs 2.8 billion or 11.7 percent over the previous year.
The selection of the winners in the different sectors and categories
was based on a nationwide quantitative face-to-face survey covering
males and females between the 15-60, over five months using a structured
questionnaire. The respondents were asked to state their favourite
brands and personalities across various categories, with those receiving
the highest nominations being declared the winners.
