Sri Lanka-Pakistan Business Councils sign MoU
The Sri Lanka-Pakistan Business Council and the Pakistan- Sri Lanka
Business Council signed an MoU to enhance trade and investment between
the two nations.
A nine-member Sri Lankan business delegation visited Pakistan from
April 6 to 9 to explore trade and investment opportunities.
President, Sri Lanka-Pakistan Business Council, Rohitha Thilakaratne
led the delegation and Cherryl Rodrigo, Assistant Secretary General,
Ceylon Chamber of Commerce accompanied the business delegates on behalf
of the Chamber Secretariat.
The delegation took part in the textile sector specific exhibition 'TeXpo
2016,' at the Karachi Expo Centre.
Cannonball run at Galle Face Hotel

Galle Face Hotel hosted the Cannonball Run with Colombo Gin recently.
It was attended by many of the glitterati and the literati of Colombo
society, corporate world and the diplomatic community. The Cannonball
Run is an annual event that celebrates friendly rivalry - this year
between Germany and France. Here the contenders, French Ambassador to
Sri Lanka Jean-Marin Schuh and German Ambassador Juergen Morhard being
introduced to the Cannonball Run. |

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Harsha de Silva and the
Deputy Minister of Mahaweli Development and Environment, Anuradha
Jayarathna and senior officials of the Ministry of Mahaweli Development
and Environment visited the Green Climate Fund (GCF) Secretariat in
Songdo, Korea to discuss projects to address climate change related
issues in Sri Lanka. Created under the United Nations Framework
Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the mission of GCF is to expand
collective human action to respond to climate change. The Fund aims to
mobilise funding to invest in low-emission and climate-resilient
