Trinity confront DSSC tomorrow
by Hafiz Marikar
A revamped Trinity College outfit showed a complete different display
of rugby in comparison to their previous outing against Wesley College.
At the same venue, the game against St. Joseph's College was almost a no
contest when they trounced the Joes by 40/14. In this game Trinity
played at full strength led by their skipper and got off to a fantastic
start that any team would have dreamt, with a try in the opening minute.
Tomorrow (Monday), Trinity will be making their third appearance in
the current school division one rugby encounter against D.S. Senanayake
College at Longden Place, Trinity has nine of the last season players.,
and have beaten Wesley College and St. Joseph's College and are
determined to register another win.
They should not be complacent and should not repeat the blunders the
they did in the opening game against Wesley College as they suffered a
close two points win. The other first round games are against S. Thomas'
College and Royal College. Trinity's key game of the year is the Bradby
Shield encounter against Royal. The 'first 'leg' is on 30th April while
the return game will be played in Kandy on 14th May, The Bradby tally
remains at - Trinity 39, Royal 31 and 1 tied.
