Undisputable champs Kandy SC felicitated

Kandy Sports Club which won the league 19 times and the knockouts 20 times, a feat which no other club has achieved, were felicitated over here in Kandy. The team earned a name as the strongest team.

All this was possible due to the contribution made by the well-known rugby personality rightly tagged 'Mr. RUGBY' Malik Samarawickrema who gave his wealthy contribution to this Club to maintain its dominance since 1992. It has become the brightest era in Kandy purely due to the foundation laid to the Nittawela Club by this great rugby promoter.

When one belongs to the great family of rugby, then one always has a reason to be happy, proud and smiling about. Nonetheless, the 2015/2016 season was even more special. A new page was opened following a spectacular achievement, for the third time being unbeaten in both league and knockout tournaments.

Kandy ruggerites won the championship and thus earned the name as the best club, by winning the league and the knockouts for most number of times. with the glorified red-white -And-blue jersey!

Every top club, every great team, like Kandy Sports Club must evidently respect and draw attention to its history; let alone when said history is written in gold letters and largely graced by titles, honors and successes...

The Kandy Sports Club, located at Nittawela,, is where everyone can experience that team's history! The history of the greatest rugby club, Trophies, photographs of years long gone starting from the founding era of the club until now; and the fans feel proud for the team they love and are connected with successes, first places and "fair play".

At this felicitation ceremony every player and rugby committee official were presented with a medal and cash award.
