The newly appointed Secretary to the Ministry of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media Bopage Nimalaweera will assume duties tomorrow, at 11.25 am at the Ministry. An LLB graduate of the University of Colombo, a lawyer and accountant by profession, Wimalaweera served as a former SLAS officer as an Assistant Government Agent in different divisions and in several Ministries. He was also Vice Chairman of the National Apprentice, Industrial Training Authority and Chairman of the National Human Resource Development Council and the Vocational Training Authority of Sri Lanka and currently serves as the Chairman of the Sri Lanka State Plantations Corporation. As a social and political activist he was also the General Secretary of the Independent Student Union from 1985 to 1990.
