National Higher Ordination ceremony

The 70th National Higher Ordination ceremony of the Sri Lanka Ramanna Maha Nikaya was held on Friday at the Panadura UC grounds under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena. The President presented certificates to the ordained bhikkhus.

Chinese Bhikkhu Ven. Shein Sheng Thera presented a memento to the President to mark the occasion. The highlights of the ceremony were the Maha Nayake of Ramanna Maha Nikaya, Most Ven. Agga Maha Panditha Napane Pemasiri Thera, presenting the Ramanna Wanshaya and Patipada to the President. Most Ven. Doranagoda Vijithasena Anunayake Thera, Most Ven. Warakagoda Pemarathana Anunayake Thera, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Speaker Karu Jayasuriya, several diplomats and dignitaries were present.
