SLC Under-23 Division I One-day Tournament:

Tamil Union register 68-run win over Bloomfield

Tamil Union opener and former Richmond College Galle cricketer Sithara Gihman hit a brilliant 158 and spinners Ishara Prasan (4 for 44) and HarithMaduwantha (4-33) took eight wickets between them as Bloomfield were beatenby 68 runs in their SLC Under-23 Division I, 50-over match played at ReidAvenue yesterday.

Gimhan faced 128 balls hitting 16 fours and seven sixes.

Tamil Union: 269 in 47 overs (Sithara Gimhan 158, Sachin Jayawardena 4-24,M Mahela 3-46)

Bloomfield: 201 in 49.3 overs (M Akram 86, Harith Maduwantha 4-33, IsharaPrasan 4-44, Chamika Karunaratne 2-50)

Mohotty bowls Saracens to win

Saracens Sports Club's off spinner Vinu Mohotty bowled his side to a 136-run win over Moors Sports Club in their SLC Under-23 Division I, 50-over match played at the Moors SC grounds.

Mohotty, the former St Peter's College bowler, took six wickets for 30 as Moors were bowled out for 84 in reply to Saracens total of 220.

Saracens SC: 220 in 49.3 overs (Manelka de Silva 46, Ishan Nilaksha 36, Sangeeth Cooray 33, Shehan Madushanka 29, Chemila Obeysekera 25, DushanHemantha 21, Vikum Peiris 4-48, Irshad Umar 3-38)

Moors SC: 84 in 27 overs (Vinu Mohotty 6-30, Chanaka Devinda 2-15).

Badureliya SC by 13 runs

Badureliya Sports Club recorded a 13-run win against Lankan Cricket Club in their SLC Under-23 One-day match played on Saturday.

Badureliya SC: 241-9 in 50 overs (Akash Seneviratne 95, Milan Abeysekera 80, S Korale 2-29, A Perera 2-47, M Fernando 2-66)

Lankan CC: 228 in 49.1 overs (Sanjula Abeywickrama 54, S Paranathala 52 n.o, Chandula Weeraratne 4-57).

CCC ground Airmen

A stunning spell of spin bowling by W Silva (4/15) and a fine knock of 108 off 96 balls (15 fours, 4 sixes) from former Thomian batsman Ron Chandraguptha, steered Colombo Cricket Club to a 116-run win over Air Force Sports Club in their SLC Under-23 Division I One-day match played at CCC grounds.

Air Force SC collapsed for 146 chasing a target of 263.

CCC: 262 in 50 overs (Ron Chandraguptha 108, L Jayakody 42, Raveen Sayer 33, N Mendis 3-47, Dilip Thataka 2-35, Dilum Weeraratne 2-39, H Umendra 2-46).

Air Force SC: 146 in 38.5 overs (U Parakrama 54, W Silva 4-15, P Abeykoon 2-20)

Colts thrash KYCC by 127 runs

Colombo Colts CC batsmen Pasindu Isira (121 not out), Hashan Dumindu (62) and Sadeera Samarawickrama (48 not out) shone in their 127-run win over Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club played at Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium.

Isira, a former Ananda College wicket-keeper hit 11 fours and a six in his innings while Samarawickrama made a rapid 23-ball 48 runs including seven fours and a six.

Colts: 288-3 in 49 overs (Pasindu Isira 121 n.o, Sadeera Samarawickrama 48 n.o, Hashan Dumindu 62, Thineth Manishka 2-42).

Kurunegala Youth CC: 161 in 36.2 overs (Pandula Udupihilla 45, Shehan Cooray 37, Randeera Ranasinghe 34, Pramod Maduwantha 4-13, Ali Khan 2-30).

NCC in nail-biting win

Nondescript Cricket Club beat Panadura Sports Club by one wicket in a thrilling match played at Maitland Place.

Panadura SC: 122 in 36.2 overs (Anuk Fernando 3-31, Aravinda Akurugoda 2-11, Ravindu Tillekeratne 2-29).

NCC: 127-9 in 31 overs (Pawan Wickramasinghe 41, Vimukthi Silva 5-40).
