The Annual English Day 2016

The Annual English Day of the Primary Section of Good Shepherd Convent, Kandy was held on a grand scale recently. The chief guest was Nirosha Amarasinghe, former President of the Past Pupils' Association. At present, she serves as the Assistant Branch Manager, Seylan Bank, Peradeniya branch. The English teachers of the Primary Section organised the event under the guidance of Principal Rev. Sr. Chandrika Perera.

The programme was a colourful event consisting of items ranging from song, dance to drama. The students from Grade One to Five took part. In accordance with the English Day, school level competitions such as recitation, reading, copy writing, dictation, storytelling, essay writing and television news reading were conducted. The winners were awarded certificates. The Sector Coordinator, Rev. Sr. Eupresia, the Superior, Rev. Sr. Mary Princy and the Head Mistress of the Primary Section, Rev. Sr. Jayamani Rodrigo were also present.
