Appointed Master Chief Petty Officer of Navy

Acting upon a concept of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy, has been appointed. Master Chief Petty Officer TG Neelkaru is the first to be appointed to this post.

Neelkaru is a senior sailor and will look into the welfare, training and administrative affairs of sailors and forward necessary suggestions and recommendations to the Navy Commander through the Director General Personnel and will allso represent the Navy as the most senior sailor at state ceremonies.
