Exterminators (Pvt) Limited renewed its carbon neutral status for a
third consecutive year through re-certification from Natural Capital
Partners (NCP) in the UK, the company said in a press release.
The CarbonNeutral certification was awarded by The Sustainable Future
Group (SFG), NCP's regional verification and certification partner,
following an extensive analysis of the company's Greenhouse Gas (GHG)
emissions and subsequent purchase of verified carbon credits through
supporting a registered Hydro Power project in Sri Lanka.
Exterminators are actively working towards reducing its carbon foot
print year-on-year with the help of sustainability consultancy firm -
The Carbon Consulting Company (CCC).
Director Marlon Ferreira said, "In the past few years alone, we have
seen the devastating effects of climate change in our own country. Being
environmentally friendly is no longer a 'nice thing to do'. We are
always on the lookout for new developments in practices, systems and
technology in our industry in terms of being responsible to our
environment and society."
Manager, Sustainable Development and Strategy at SFG, Glenn Sonntag
said Exterminators has stood apart from the competition as a
sustainability leader in the pest control sector, by measuring and
reducing the carbon footprint of their operations.
