Old Bens Over-Forty soccer encounter today

A nine-a-side over 40 Soccer encounter between Old Bens SC players has been arranged to be played at the College Grounds, Kotahena, today, at 2.30 p.m.

Nearly 60 Old Bens star players, who played for Sri Lanka and the College, will represent their four inter-school houses, for a beautiful Trophy.

Two star skippers of the late sixties who represented Sri Lanka, Tilak Peries & Amalraj Mirando will grace the occasion as Chief Guests.

The event is organized by Erik Mahesan and Athula Perera and a grand scale get-together will be followed at the College Pavilion. “This will definitely be a golden opportunity to witness the stars of yesteryear in action” said Erik.

A two minutes silence will be observed as a gratitude to National Soccer Legend, late Alfred Dias (53) who died out of a massive heart attack minutes after an Over-50 encounter against Old Mazenodians at Kandana in March. (MGV)
