Sri Lanka 'A' win by 62 runs [September 18 2008]

Sri Lanka 'A' warmed up for the forthcoming five-match one day 'international' series against South Africa 'A' when they beat University Sports X1 by 62 runs in their one day tour match played at Sinovich Park, Sinoville, Pretoria.

Electing to bat first, Sri Lanka 'A' made 229 for 5 in 50 overs with opener Kanchana Gunawardena making a blistering 90 off 125 balls. The home team was shot out for 167 off 38 overs.

Opening bowler Suranga Lakmal did the most of the damage capturing 5 for 38. Sri Lanka will meet South Africa 'A' in the first one dayer to be played at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom tomorrow.
