Tamil Nadu politicians arrested for protesting against Sri Lanka [September 25 2008]

Two political leaders from the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu - K. Veeramani and Thol Thirumavalavan, have been arrested along with over 300 supporters In Chennai for demanding India's intervention in Sri Lanka.

The two led a protest march from the Dravida Kazhagam headquarters to the main rail terminal in Chennai in an attempt to block traffic but were arrested enroute, police sources said. All those arrested were later released, official sources added. Thirumavalavan heads the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi.
