The Police has decided to deploy additional security to all the drinking water projects in Matale district with immediate effect. The decision was taken today after a false rumor of pipe borne water being poisoned in Matale district spread around the town.
"We have decided to deploy police security to the drinking water projects 24 hours day," a senior Police officer said. The Water Board stressed that the fears by residents in Kandy and Matale was rumor and no need to panic.
