West Indies beat Lankan women [November 05 2008]

West Indies beat Sri Lanka by 40 runs in their first women's one day international cricket encounter played at Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium today. Put in to bat, the visitors made 167 all out off 49.5 overs with middle order batswoman Stacy-Ann King making a top score of 70 off 100 balls.

Sripali Weerakkody (3 for 26) and Suwini de Alwis (3 for 33) shared the bowling honours for the home team. In reply, Sri Lanka's women's team were shot out for 127 off 42.4 overs with opener Chamari Polgampola making a top score of 29.
