All the illegal shops in Kataragama scared city were removed this morning by the Road Development Authority (RDA) with the assistance of the police. Road Development Authority says the decision was taken after considering the security situation in the area and the shop owners have been informed two weeks ago.
The local government officials of the area hope to give alternate places to the shop owners to build their shops before the beginning of the next festival season.
